I first discovered my love for photography about 10 years ago in New York, but it wasn't until I shot my first wedding that photography became more than a hobby. After enduring an office job for what felt like an eternity, I needed something new. So I moved my family to St. Kitts and Nevis for a while, simplified my life, and started shooting weddings full time. It was the scariest, most liberating thing I ever did. 

I became a full time storyteller. 

In case you’re wondering where “Matt Phoenix” comes from (you are, lol), it’s basically my middle name (Matthew) plus my favorite word when I was a kid. That’s all! When I’m not at a wedding, I’m at home with my lovely wife and friend, Candace, our 10-year-old daughter, and our 2 dogs (Akita + German Shepherd).

Some of our best days are spent enjoying the simple things…the couch, the tube, and a good cabernet.
